The latest update to nanoStream Analytics is here! This release introduces critical security flexibility with extended token revocation, brings greater accuracy to our H5Live Buffering Ratio metrics, and delivers faster, more reliable data queries for your usage and world maps.
Expired Token Revocation (Now with a 24-Hour Grace Period)
What’s new:
Guardian’s playback token revocation now extends to expired tokens. Operators can revoke an expired playback token for up to 24 hours after its official expiration time.
The UI has also been updated: the Expired label is now independent of the Revoke action. The label appears as soon as the token expires, while the Revoke button remains active and usable throughout the 24-hour grace period.
Why it matters:
A token that has just expired may still be tied to an active, ongoing viewer session. Previously, operators could not revoke an expired token, leaving them unable to terminate these specific sessions. This grace period closes the gap, allowing you to shut down misused sessions instantly.
Buffering Ratio Widget
What’s new:
The H5Live Play Buffering Ratio chart now distinguishes between periods with no buffering and periods with no data. Empty time periods are shown as gaps instead of 0%, and if no data is available, the widget displays No data available.
Why it matters:
A 0% value now consistently means no buffering, while gaps indicate no data to measure, making the chart easier to interpret and preventing misleading dips to zero.
Performance Improvements
What’s new:
Usage and World Map byte-usage queries are now served from pre-aggregated hourly data wherever it is safely available, reducing query latency for wide time ranges. There is no change to the available time ranges or the returned values.
Why it matters:
Dashboards and reports covering longer time periods load faster while continuing to provide the same trusted results.
Data Accuracy Improvements
What’s new:
- Usage History no longer returns periods that are not yet fully aggregated, preventing an incomplete most recent month from being reported as a complete one.
- Fixed an issue in World Map where a country with no traffic could appear as a zero-value row in the Playout + Ingest view’s Top 10 table. Entries with a total value of 0 are now filtered out at the API level.
Why it matters:
Reports now reflect only fully processed data, improving accuracy, and avoiding misleading partial-month results. The World Map Top 10 table now shows only countries with actual traffic, providing a clearer view of geographic usage.
